Yes. We capture all ages, from newborns through to adult sized fingerprints. Our process is suited for most ages, however it is necessary that the fingerprint has visible lines on it.

Newborn fingerprints develop in the womb from 22 weeks, so they will be present on a newborn child. Whilst we have produced keepsakes from as young as a few days old, please note newborn fingerprints can be shallow and fine, so having a close-up check to see if the lines are visible will be able to determine if a print can be captured.

For newborn and children fingerprints, we endeavor to keep these as true to size as possible for the final piece of jewellery. However, if you wish to provide measurements upon the return of your digital prints, please add these into the notes section when you upload them. 

For adult prints (which may be larger than our pendants), we use our engraving technology to scale these down, whilst keeping the ratio and fingerprint detail in perfect condition for the final engraving.

We accept any existing fingerprint, paw print, hand print or footprint. You do not need to use our Deja Marc fingerprint kit. We simply provide our fingerprint kits as most people don't have a print on file already.

DO:
- Read through the kit instructions carefully and watch the process video for additional information before you start.

- Make sure you have clean hands and a hard flat surface to capture the prints.

- Use light taps to transfer the ink onto the paper (less is more)

- If you are capturing a baby or child's fingerprint, we recommend doing this when they are relaxed or sleepy so their little hands are relaxed.

- Make multiple attempts so that we have lots of options to choose from!

- Take clear close up images of your prints (once completed)

AVOID:
- If you are seeing a dark blob you are pressing too hard. Attempt a tap instead of a hard press.

- Do not roll your finger. Just simply tap it down on the print paper.

It's important to know that we do tidy up your fingerprints so they don't need to be perfect. If there is a smudge or a line is broken, don't worry, we will clean this up for you whilst ensuring the design remains aesthetically identical to your prints. 

You can purchase your own ink pad or strips from most craft shops. Then follow the same instructions here to capture your fingerprint.

There is also a pencil lead and selotape method you can attempt if you do not have access to ink linked here.

Once you have captured a fingerprint and are ready to order, select 'NO, I don't need a fingerprint kit' and an upload function appears. Please attach a clear image of your fingerprint here and commence the checkout process. 

If you have placed an order:
Upload your fingerprints via our QR code or email them to prints@dejamarc.co.uk along with your order number.

We keep all customers prints on file, unless otherwise asked. We have a lot of customers wishing to use their stored prints for new repeat orders. Simply select NO to needing a fingerprint kit and the option to enter your old order number appears. The team will apply these filed fingerprints to your new order and commence production as soon as possible.

Handwriting comes in different sizes and styles, so it is hard to create a fixed word limit.

Our pendants are 16mm by 16mm, so we will make design and placement adjustments in order to ensure the text is legible.

We recommend a maximum of around 4 words, however if your handwriting exceeds this, we will reach out to you to find a solution that suits you.

Yes! We can engrave handwriting you already have such as written words in a card, letter from a loved one, signature and many more.

Just upload a clear image of the handwriting via the upload function of the product page.  

The handwriting you supply will be replicated exactly onto our jewellery.

We may have to stack the words appropriately where required to ensure the writing is not too small on the pendant.

If you’re trying to capture a paw print, we understand it can sometimes be a little daunting.

Our key tips are to groom your pet, use treats and pick the right time of day.

We accept existing paw prints. These can be prints you already have on file historically, or have captured yourself recently. 

You do not need to use our Deja Marc paw print kit.

Our furry friends are just that, furry, so we understand hairs can show up on their prints.

It's important to know that we do tidy up your prints if needed so they don't need to be perfect.

For example, we will remove the hair between their toes, whilst ensuring the design remains aesthetically identical to your prints. 

If you require a fingerprint or pawprint kit, the timeline is as follows:

Your fingerprint kit will be sent out within 24 hours (Mon-Fri) of receiving your order. Please note if you place an order over the weekend your fingerprint kit will be sent on Monday via Royal Mail. Please note, for all orders Deja Marc will send you an email with your fingerprint kit tracking number so you can follow it home.

Once received, it is the customer's responsibility to complete and return their kit. You can do this via post or the QR code in your kit to speed up the process.

Once we receive your completed kit, it will take approximately 1 week for our team to engrave, polish, pack and complete your keepsake. This timeframe doesn't include the return postage back to the final recipient.

If you are sending prints via the QR code, please send a close up of your favourite print, and then one of the entire paper for scaling purposes.

In the rare circumstance your prints are unsuccessful and not usable, Deja Marc will reach out to you offering you another kit, and guide you through the process. If you are unsure if your fingerprint is usable, you can contact us at prints@dejamarc.co.uk and we will assist you.

There is no time limit on when you need to send back the prints.

We will only commence production once we have all prints correlated to each order. 

For those with an existing order, there are two options: 

QR code 
The fastest & recommended option is via our QR code that comes in your kit. 

Simply scan the QR code, and upload a close up picture of your print/s, and any notes you wish to add (e.g sizing). 

Deja Marc communicate with you via email at every step of the process. As soon as we receive your prints and the team have confirmed they are good quality, we will communicate this with you.

If you have posted your pre-paid envelope including your fingerprints and not heard from Deja Marc confirming receipt after 10 days, please send us an email to info@dejamarc.co.uk or via our contact page. Please detail your order number and we will investigate this for you.

Our website is the only place you can purchase a Deja Marc piece of jewellery.

An additional kit to send to a different address costs $5 / £5. Simply reach out to the team here and they can add another kit to your order.  

Yes! We produce bespoke engraving designs daily. From different fingerprint combinations (for example Trio on one side, Handprint on the other), all the way to handwriting, line drawings and designs. Simply send an email to info@dejamarc.co.uk we can send you a draft order to review the costs of your desired creation. 

Yes! You can purchase a pendant separately or add multiple pendants (max of 3) to any necklace. Please go to Collections > Pendants and add additional pendants to your cart. 

No, unfortunately our engraving  and production processes are set up to only engrave on our Deja Marc Jewellery pieces.  We cannot engrave other jewellery.  

Every piece of jewellery comes with a Jewellery Care Card, however we have also written full care instructions here for you.

Our jewellery pieces are made of high quality precious metals and are either 18k Gold Vermeil, 18k Rose Vermeil or Solid Sterling Silver. We have written about each of our precious metals in detail and production techniques on our Jewellery care page.

Our 9k & 14k Solid Gold pieces have an authentication stamp on the chain.

The final delivery of the above precious metals will also include a certificate of authority signed by Deja Marc founder Rosie.   

Firstly, if you are reviewing this question due to a loved one passing, we are sorry for your loss. We understand that having a loved one’s fingerprint on a piece of jewellery after they pass is incredibly special, so we work with several families in preparation or with funeral homes (and still families) quickly after someone has passed to ensure this process is possible.
